Why does surgical surgery require anesthesiologists?

Anesthesiologist, commonly known as an “anesthetist”

The main duty of an anesthesiologist is to help manage pain for patients undergoing surgery. This begins with preparing the patient before entering the operating room, monitoring and reporting the patient’s condition during surgery, and ensuring the patient’s safety until they recover after surgery.

Before the surgery, the anesthesiologist plans the administration of anesthetic drugs, including local anesthesia or general anesthesia, based on the patient’s condition. During surgery, the anesthesiologist remains closely involved with the patient, constantly monitoring vital signs such as the heart’s electrical activity (ECG), blood pressure, and oxygen levels, as well as watching for any abnormalities to provide immediate assistance and correction to ensure safety until the surgery is completed.

After surgery, the patient is moved to a recovery room for about one hour, where the anesthesiologist continues to monitor the patient according to established protocols to ensure their safety.
